  About our Programs:

  Leadership Discovery Program

Since 1994 EDI has offered its Leadership Discovery program for emerging Asian-Pacific professionals and for the first time in 2009 offered its Leadership Discovery program for emerging Hispanic professionals.  This program is about the confluence of self-discovery, cultural awareness and leadership education, with particular emphasis on how one’s cultural values are perceived in mainstream business, and discovery about what it takes to be an executive and to understand one’s company culture.  The interplay of these dynamics are then examined for alignment and used to strategically design individual career objectives.  There are three programs offered for the Asian Leadership Discovery Program - two in Greater Puget Sound and one in Greater Portland.  There is one program offered for the Hispanic Leadership Discovery Program in Greater Puget Sound.  Kickoff begins late March/early April and the program culminates with a graduation ceremony in November.  Tuition is $3,500.

Leadership Navigation Program

Made possible with grants from Key Foundation and Weyerhaeuser Foundation, EDI launched its next tier Leadership Navigation program on February 28, 2008.  Leadership Navigation is a more intense training on the “hows” of leadership for mid-to senior level Asian Pacific professionals.  It continues to focus on the critical competencies identified as being necessary for all executive leaders, but  drills down to examine the “how” (and the intangibles) behind each of these competencies.  Where other programs emphasize “what” leaders do, Leadership Navigation’s focuses on “how” to implement critical actions to attain the greatest result.  Within a safe environment, participants openly examine how best to integrate their unique perspectives and cultural insights into an effective leadership style that contributes to the mission and objectives of their organizations.  Best of all, what is learned is applied, monitored and reinforced throughout the year-long program and through a one-on-one advisor/coach feedback process.  Program starts with a two day kick-off and culminates with a graduation ceremony in November.  The tuition has been discounted to $5,500 for 2010.

The application process for the 2010 program is now closed.  If you are interested in applying for the 2011 program, please contact the EDI office at 425-467-9365 or edi@ediorg.org
